Some places give you a view of nature. This house puts you inside it.
Villa Kazda’s Guest House
Casa Dos is a private, ultra-modern residence set within Villa Kazda’s 7-hectare rainforest estate. Inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House, it replaces conventional separation with space, glass, light, and an uninterrupted relationship with the landscape.
Here, privacy does not mean shutting the world out. It means having the rainforest, the Pacific horizon, the changing light, and the sounds of wildlife entirely to yourself. During the day, ocean air moves through the house. After sunset, the illuminated trees surrounding it create a dramatic natural theatre. Casa Dos gives you a place that feels entirely your own, yet never feels removed from the world around it.
❋ Open to natureFloor-to-ceiling glass panels and movable walls open the residence directly to the forest so that you don’t just observe the nature, but live in it.
❋ Ocean view or garden view? The Pacific remains visible throughout the house, revealing itself most dramatically from the front, while the rear and the sides open onto a private garden immersed in greenery.
❋ Embraced by the deckContinuous two-meter wide deck opens into the gardens around it and offers an unforgettable view and from every angle making it a great place for bird watching or just inhaling the freshest air the nature can create
❋ A natural theatreAfter dark, the forest becomes a dramatic show. Carefully illuminated trees immediately surrounding the house create a natural theatre, visible from the living room, bedrooms, and deck. And the air reverses. The evening breeze comes down from the forest and moves through the open house.
Your private edge of the rainforest.
The deck runs around the entire house, creating a private outdoor space that changes character as you move around it.
Take breakfast facing the Pacific. Find shade among the trees later in the day. Read, sit, or simply listen as the forest changes around you. The deck is close enough to the surrounding vegetation to make the distinction between garden and rainforest almost disappear, while the scale of the estate keeps the experience completely private.
A private pool with the sky above and the forest reflected below.
The infinity pool, finished in natural Sukabumi stone, extends from the garden directly into the living space.
During the day, the water reflects the trees and sky around you. Toward sunset, it becomes a mirror for the changing colors above the Pacific. The effect is especially striking from inside the living room, where water, glass, forest, and sky occupy the same view.
The pool is a statement of the house’s relationship with the landscape.
A house that lets the landscape in.
Casa Dos is built around a simple luxury: space to experience the surroundings without interruption.
Movable floor-to-ceiling glass panels allow the living spaces to open directly onto the forest. A continuous two-meter deck wraps around the house and flows into the gardens, giving you not just a single terrace or a viewpoint, but an entire perimeter from which to experience the property.
The Pacific opens out from the front of the house. The rear draws you into the garden and rainforest. Move through the house and the view changes with you.
Cook without leaving the landscape.
The designer’s kitchen gives you everything expected of a serious contemporary kitchen, including an oven, grill, French-door refrigerator, dishwasher, and premium porcelain.
What makes it different is what you do not lose while using it. The forest and Pacific remain part of the room while you prepare breakfast, cook dinner, or open a bottle for the evening. There is no need to retreat indoors to cook. The kitchen remains connected to the experience outside.
A private theatre of forest, light and ocean.
Casa Dos has a different character at night.
As darkness falls, carefully illuminated trees immediately surrounding the house become a natural theatre. The forest that surrounded you during the day is transformed into a dramatic composition of light, shadow, and movement, visible from the living room, bedrooms, pool, and deck.
The air changes too. During the day, the breeze moves from the Pacific through the house and into the forest. After sunset, the rainforest cools and the evening air moves back through the house towards the ocean.
It is one of those experiences that cannot be reproduced by bringing more luxury into a room. Nature does it for you.
Space to disappear for a while.
The indoor bathrooms are generous, open spaces where the surrounding landscape remains part of the experience.
The master bedroom takes this further with an outdoor bathtub and shower on the deck. Take your time, surrounded by greenery and the sounds of the forest, with nothing around you but the landscape and the privacy of your own residence.
BedroomsWake up to a world that is already awake.
The two bedrooms are generous, quiet spaces centered around king-size beds and expansive views.
Open the glass and the rainforest is immediately present. Keep it closed and the landscape remains framed around you. In the morning, birdsong and changing light arrive before the rest of the world does. At night, the illuminated trees outside create an entirely different view from your bed.
Each bedroom gives you the space and privacy to experience the landscape at your own pace.
A different kind of privacy.
Casa Dos offers something conventional luxury accommodation rarely can: privacy without isolation.
You have your own residence, your own pool, your own deck, and the freedom to open the house directly to the surrounding landscape. Yet you remain within easy reach of the beaches, restaurants, and life of Costa Rica’s South Pacific.
For those traveling together, Casa Dos can also be combined with the three-bedroom Villa Kazda above it, creating a private six-bedroom estate for larger groups, families, or guests traveling with staff.
